Visa & MasterCard $5.54 Billion Dollar Settlement
In 2005, a lawsuit was filed against Visa and MasterCard alleging that they had violated antitrust laws because they had set interchange fees and further, that they had imposed and enforced rules that limited merchants from steering their customers to other payment methods.
Any merchant in the US that accepted Visa and/or MasterCard debit and credit cards for the 15-year period from January 1, 2004 to January 25, 2019 is eligible to receive a portion of this settlement.
